I believe that the story means that we should always ask for Gods forgiveness. We should also ask forgiveness from the people we hurt because one Gods commandments were “Love one another, just as I have loved you”. This means that no matter how bad our situations may be, we should work through it slowly, forgiving people for what they’ve done on the way because the key to happiness is love and forgiveness.
