What is pentecost?
Pentecost is one of the most important days of the churches calendar and is celebrated 50 days after Easter. (Like the 5 books of the Old Testament: The Pentateuch, Pentecost means 50th. The word pentecost was originated in Greek and means the Greek word for "50th" Marks the day of the holy spirit came to the apostles.
After receiving the power that came from the holy spirit, the disciples then went out and preached to the people no matter what language they spoke

Red: In the time of Pentecost, The Christian church change their liturgical decorations to the colour red. Red is meant to symbolise people opening up their hearts to the holy spirit.

Water: This symbolised purity and new-life. In saying this, It means that God is washing away your sins and meant to relate and reflect on the time we were baptised.

Dove: This represents the Holy Spirit descending like Jesus Christ. It is also meant to be a symbol of peace.
